A slow start has turned into a great week...so far

Nick has really come around this week and is feeling good. He went to Brian B's birthday party today and we really worked hard at Pump-It-Up. He went on everything, some with a little help. Colby was great at the party too. He really had a good time. The way Nick has been these last two days is a complete turn around from how he felt at the beginning. He had some pretty severe back and leg pain that we could not overcome with codeine. We went to clinic on Monday, apprehensive of his counts but much to our joy the counts were good. His White Blood Cell count was the highest we have seen it in some time.
WBC: 6.7 (NORMAL)
HGB:9.9(LOW)
PLTS:125(LOW)
APC:4300
Nick took his shot well, but I think what helped was meeting a new friend Jads. Nick, being Nick was lying on one couch in the front room at clinic. Clinic is a funny place. There is a decent size play area with a large table for kids to do crafts. You can almost always find a volunteer sitting at this table working with the kids. Clinic also has a room in the front with two couches and some more board games. Surprisingly, few people sit in this room. We like it there. Anyway, Jads and his dad were playing chutes and ladders. Nick had not said a word for the 15min we were in there and then all of a sudden he pipes up "I am the best chutes and ladders player, too." He is so smooth. He makes sure to include this new kid as being the best with Nick. The boys talked a bit and then I put on Bolt the movie. They both watched and talked. Since that point Nick has gone to the mall with Papa and walked it!!! He went to SCHOOL yesterday and today the Birthday party. Amazing turn around. I think we will just hang with Nana tomorrow on her Birthday and not do too much. Moments like today at the party are so precious to us now. I also would like to thank all the kind people specifically Jessica and Brian for the thought and kind donations. Brian all of 8 years old wanted people to donate to Nick's fund in-lieu of gifts for his Birthday. Wow!! Let's hope the good times keep rolling!!
Talk to you all soon,
Greg
