The Shannon Family -- Nick is Nick again

Nick is off the steroids for a couple of weeks and wow what a change. After a tough weekend with him you start to think where is my child inside that body. As always, he bounces back right away to his old self again. Greg took him to clinic yesterday and he did great. We packed up a bag of candy so he could give it out to the nurses and his friends at clinic. He had the shot in the leg and blood drawn for counts. We tried to explain to Nick that they did not have to access his port for the blood, just draw it from his arm. He was upset and wanted his port accessed, well after trying to arm, the nurse ended up accessing his port..... I guess a 4 yr old can be smarter than his parents. His counts came back great... actually the nurse said 'excellent', so we'll take it. We hope to bring Nick to school again this week and try a playdate again.

WOW! I am so glad that you are feeling better today. How is Thomas doing? Did Colby go to school today? Make sure you stay warm because it is really cold outside and is going to get colder tomorrow. Maybe when Nana comes on Friday, you will feel like showing me out to play the Wii.

Love, Nana and Papa

Wow what a brave little boy, getting shots and blood drawn like that. I'll need to borrow you Nick to shape up Miss Molly in learning better bathroom manners. Enjoy your day at school while mom and dad enjoy the steroid holiday.
